03:49, 5 Dec 2000 UTC | Gabe Beged-Dov

Yuichi Nakamura announced the release of the version 0.72 of IBM Tokyo Research Lab's SOAP toolkit.

This release focuses on support of features being discussed as part of the next version of the Apache SOAP project. Some of these features include:

  • header handling and chaining mechanism.
  • intermediary support.
  • Digital Signature embedded as a header entry.
  • Transport-agnostic design (HTTP and JMS are supported).
  • Encoder and decoder for Java objects.

The authors are interested in feedback on their approach to intermediary support. The toolkit makes use of bleeding edge digital signature which require the latest version of the Alphaworks XML Security Suite. The security suite which was updated on 12/1/2000 now conforms to the XML-Signature Candidate Recommendation.
