XSet models XML syntax
15:35, 7 Aug 2000 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

Following up on discussion about the Infoset, Jonathan Borden announced an initial release of XSet, a 'full-fidelity' model of XML 1.0 and Namespaces in XML.

Borden had previously described the project as:

"a *very very* rough sketch of an XML property set describing the XML 1.0 production rules in RDF. This property set, when completed, will define the XML grove in RDF."

The current draft includes all of the productions from XML 1.0 and Namespaces, though there is work yet to be done:

"What is missing are the full set of WFC,VC, and NSC constraint definitions. My idea was to use XPath to specify these ala Schematron..."
