Mozilla gets SVG home page
15:49, 14 Apr 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Dean Jackson has announced the creation of the Mozilla/SVG project home page to serve as a base for the development of Mozilla's nascent SVG support.

Currently, SVG support is not available for Mozilla/Netscape 6, as the Adobe SVG plugin does not function with the new browser. Although some code for SVG has been checked in to the Mozilla source tree, it has not yet made it into the nightly builds or milestone releases of the browser.

Jackson, who has been appointed Project Editor for SVG in Mozilla and is a member of the W3C SVG working group, is appealing for help with the project. This new web page will server as a center for communicating the state of Mozilla's SVG development.
