New releases of FourThought's Python XML tools

FourThought have announced 4XSLT 0.8.3, 4XPath 0.8.3 and 4DOM 0.9.3, part of their 4Suite XML tools for Python.

4DOM, which implements DOM core level 2 and HTML level 2, has the following changes, among others:

  • Improved UTF-8 handling in printing
  • Bug fix for SAX2 attribute namespace defaulting

4XPath supports the full XPath Recommendation except for the lang core function. 4XSLT does not yet support the whole of the XSLT Recommendation. Changes in these new versions include:

  • Major performance enhancement
  • Implementation of xsl:number
  • Fixed bugs in apply-templates
  • Many various bugfixes
