VRP is open source and supports semantic validation of both resource descriptions and schemas. This version is faster, supports WXS Datatypes, updated conformance and some SVG tools.

D2R MAP is a declarative language to describe mappings between relational database schemata and OWL ontologies. The mappings can be used by a D2R processor to export data from a relational database to RDF. An open source (LGPL) implementation is available.

This report is a product of the Semantic Web Advanced Development Europe (SWAD-Europe) project, and authored by Dave Beckett and Jan Grant. It covers mapping triple stores and RDBMS, concentrating on surveying the schemas used and discussing mapping approaches to and from relational schemas. It describes current best practice for using such systems for Semantic Web data.

The WSDM TC will define a standard way of using Web services architecture and technology to manage distributed resources. It will closely align its work with related activities at other standards groups, including W3C Web Services Architecture Working Group and Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF).

The deadine to submit a paper abstract or course proposal for the SVG Open 2003 Conference and Exhibition has been extended to 21 March 2003. Also, 30 new scholarships are available to student presenters, courtesy of the BC Advanced Systems Institute. A new poster presentation option has been added for students. SVG Open 2003 will be held July 13-18, 2003 in Vancouver, Canada.
