Although SAX has been around as a standard XML parser API for some time now, no agreement has so far been reached on a standard C++ SAX interface.

In a message to XML-dev, David Megginson, who spearheads SAX, initiated a discussion aimed at settling on a common C++ SAX 1.0 interface.

Megginson followed up with two other posts, one describing C++-specific design principles, and the other a first draft of the SAX/C++ interface.
