Work moves forward on RDF media type
09:13, 24 Apr 2001 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Aaron Swartz has published a draft memo describing the media type for the XML encoding of RDF.

Taking Dan Connolly's initial draft as a starting point, Swartz's draft attempts to push forward on the registration of the media type. The draft proposes a type of application/rdf+xml, following the guidelines from RFC 3023, "XML Media Types."

The need for the registration of this type is pressing: the Mozilla browser currently implements a stop-gap solution of text/rdf, and specifications such as PRISM, which reuse RDF, are affected by this issue.

Feedback should be sent to the www-rdf-interest mailing list.
