The W3C has issued a new draft of XML Inclusions (XInclude), reverting to the old element-only syntax.
The return to element syntax (xinclude:include href="document to include" parse="xml"
) simplifies the document substantially, but provides less flexibility than the previous draft, which supported an XLink-like attribute-based syntax.
There are 21 listed outstanding issues, suggesting that this draft still has a long way to go before Last Call. Comments should be sent to www-xml-xinclude-comments@w3.org (archive).
