Unicorn announced a new XSL FO processor implementing a "substantial subset" of the latest XSL Working Draft, downloadable for free on their site.

Written in C++, the new processor is built upon the Unicorn XSLT processor and is available as a binary for Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0.

The output of the processor generates TeX macro calls:

Using TeX as the formatting engine gives numerous benefits: excellent typesetting quality, pre-built support for multiple output formats, pre-built support for multiple languages, etc.

Unicorn Formatting Objects is a part of the Unicorn Print Server, a commercial solution "designed to provide an efficient integration of the various types of hardware platforms, operating systems and printing devices on a basis of a single concept".
