Zope improves DOM support, gets XML mailing list
10:27, 16 Mar 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

  • A mailing list has been formed for those interested in discussing the XML infrastructure of Zope, the open-source application server.

The announcement states the list's brief to discuss:

    • Use of the present Zope XML infrastructure
    • Improving the infrastructure
    • Creating a new infrastructure

  • Paul Everitt, CEO of Digital Creations, the originators of Zope, announced that FourThought are to help with XML support in Zope.

The makers of 4Suite (4DOM, 4XSLT, 4XPath) will help bring the XMLDocument product to its first release, and use their 4DOM code to provide DOM support within Zope.

Zope has tremendous potential as an XML-aware application environment, and these moves demonstrate that there is commitment to make this happen.
