There's only a few days left to sign up for the tutorials and presentations at XML Europe 2004, the major European gathering of the XML world. The conference will be held from 18-21 April in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

As chair of the conference, I'm obviously particularly proud of the experts and key community members we've assembled. The tutorials will be delivered by well known authors and innovators, including:

• Amazon Web Services Workshop, taught by Jeff Barr, Amazon.com's web services evangelist, and XML Europe opening keynote speaker.

• .NET and XML, taught by Niel Bornstein, author of the O'Reilly book .NET and XML.

• Java and XML, taught by Marc Portier of Outerthought, noted open source, XML and Apache participant.

• XML Schema Languages, taught by Eric van der Vlist, author of the O'Reilly books XML Schema and RELAX NG.

• XML, Databases and XQuery, taught by Jonathan Robie, XQuery expert par excellence and co-editor of the W3C XQuery specification.

Other tutorials include an introduction to Topic maps, XForms, creating an XML solution in Word 2003 and constraining and querying Topic Maps.

For those wishing to take advantage of the tutorials, advance registration is required (before April 9) so the organisers can accurately gauge the necessary amount of materials to produce. On-site registration will still be available, but delegates are requested to register in advance if at all possible.
