XStandard is an ActiveX plug-in WYSIWYG editor that generates XHTML 1.1 excluding deprecated tags. It uses CSS for formatting and enforces accessibility by requiring alt text and summaries for images and tables, distinguishing between data and layout tables that are processed differently by screen readers, etc. There is a freeware "Lite" and shareware "Pro" version; both require a registration for download.
