XML.com inaugurated the XML-Deviant column today, providing weekly summaries of activity on XML-Dev and other XML mailing lists.

Quark provided a pre- release version of an XML converter. Avenue.quark lets developers associate Quark styles and structures with XML elements and export Quark documents as XML. It is available for both Windows and Macintosh versions of QuarkXPress.

The W3C and the IETF XML Signature Working Group released a new XML Signatures Core Syntax draft.
