11:38, 6 Jun 2001 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

Matt Sergeant announced the release of AxKit 1.4, "a major milestone in the development of AxKit, with a very large list of changes."

Highlights of those changes include:

  • "Added LibXSLT language module (for use with XML::LibXSLT). This is over twice as fast as XML::Sablotron, and more compliant."
  • New compiled and and config directives, and Apache::ExtUtils no longer processes config directives
  • Support for PDF added by permitting binary nulls in output
  • "Major memory leak cleanup"
  • Improved installation, including libxml support to avoid conflicts with expat installed as part of Apache.

AxKit is available under either the GNU Public License or the Artistic License.
