Sun releases XML Schema Datatypes implementation
19:14, 3 May 2001 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

Sun Microsystems has released an XML Datatypes Library, supporting the data types defined by the March 16 Proposed Recommendation of XML Schema Datatypes.

Written by Kohsuke Kawaguchi, the new library allows developers to work with XML Schema data types outside of the context of complete schema validation.

The implementation includes a list of known limitations as well as sample code. This code requires JDK 1.3 and includes some code from the Apache Project's Xerces parser.
