RosettaNet to integrate ebXML messaging
12:38, 1 May 2001 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Support for the OASIS/UN ebXML electronic business project grows as RosettaNet announce plans to integrate the ebXML Messaging Services specification into future releases of their implementation framework.

The ebXML Messaging Services specification provides for secure packaging, routing and transfer of XML messages, and has recently adopted the SOAP protocol as a substrate.

RosettaNet, an open standards organization for Internet business standards serving high-tech industries, already has a good deployment record, with over 400 companies using it in their supply chain. RosettaNet also intend to preserve interoperability with their current framework as the ebXML messaging is integrated.

Jennifer Hamilton, CEO of RosettaNet, commented:

While RosettaNet remains committed to developing business process standards required to support the complex needs of the high-technology industry, we also want to ensure interoperability across all supply chains. To that end, we see tremendous value in ensuring our vertical supply chain standards are supported by a horizontal, universally accepted messaging service, such as ebXML.
