New SOAP toolkit, localized MSXML
19:22, 12 Mar 2001 UTC | Simon St.Laurent

Microsoft has released beta 2 of its SOAP toolkit, along with versions of the MSXML 3.0 parser for Traditional and Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, and Korean.

The new beta of the SOAP toolkit includes simple arrays, ISAPI support, more WSDL support, and a trace tool, and "will be a fully Microsoft supported product."

The localized versions of MSXML provide the same functionality as MSXML 3.0. They include Windows Installer Merge Modules, but developers who want to run MSXML 3.0 in "replace mode" still need to download and run the xmlinst.exe program after installing MSXML.

Microsoft also recently offered a .cab file distribution for MSXML, though it doesn't yet support localized versions.
