More XML in Java 2 Enterprise Edition

eWeek reports (1 2) that Sun is adding more XML support to Java 2 Enterprise Edition version 1.3.

While Sun hasn't noted this on its XML page, the Proposed Final Draft for J2EE version 1.3 requires that:

"All J2EE products must meet the JAXP [1.1] conformance requirements and must provide at least one SAX 2 parser, at least one DOM 2 parser, and at least one XSLT transform engine. There must be a SAX parser or parsers that support all combinations of validation modes and namespace support. There must be a DOM parser or parsers that support all combinations of validation modes namespace support."

The draft also specifies support for Java Server Pages 1.2, which has an XML syntax and a set of rules by which all JSP documents are equivalent to an XML document.
