Canonical XML is now a Proposed Recommendation, with no changes from the Candidate Recommendation.
Canonical XML, which specifies how to create standalone versions of XML documents which may be tested for uniqueness and processed reliably without the need for retrieving external resources, has been through many rapid drafts.
The status section reports:
"The XML Signature Working Group believes this specification incorporates the resolution of all last call and call for implementation issues; furthermore it considers the specification to be very stable (as demonstrated by its interoperability report)."
