The RSS-DEV working group has voted to release the 1.0 revision of the RDF Site Summary vocabulary.

RSS 1.0 is an attempt to revise RSS, as used by Netscape in their My Netscape portal, to become an extensible format for web site metadata. The working group, chaired by Rael Dornfest of O'Reilly, included a range of experts from implementors, such as Moreover's David Galbraith, to metadata and RDF developers Eric Miller and Dan Brickley.

Various tools and converters are available for the new format, lists of which are available from RSS Info and RSS-DEV eGroups repository. A tutorial for RSS 1.0 is also available on oreillynet.com.
