Schematron moves to SourceForge
09:50, 15 Sep 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Rick Jelliffe's popular XSLT-based validation system, Schematron, is moving to development on open source site SourceForge.

Jelliffe reports that the move is happening because of popular demand. He aims to have everything working on SourceForge by the end of the month. Writing on XML-DEV, Jelliffe said:

I anticipate that the project will be structured as a lot of small subprojects, one per implementation. I will post to this list when the move is complete.
Anyone who has versions of Schematrons that they want to contribute, please let me know. I am keen to start from a codebase unified to the (latest version) of the new architecture.

Schematron promotes an alternative approach to XML schemas, based on tree patterns rather than grammars, and is based on XPath and XSLT technology.

A mailing list for discussion of Schematron has also been established, you can join the "Schematron Love-in" list by visiting the signup page at SourceForge. The new Schematron web site will be http://schematron.sourceforge.net/.
