Murata Makoto has posted a tutorial and a presentation he gave at Extreme Markup Languages 2000 describing Relaxer, a tool for generating Java classes based on RELAX language descriptions.

Both the tutorial and the presentation describe a Java-based architecture for creating XML processing software. Relaxer uses RELAX language descriptions to generate Java classes intended for processing conforming docments. Examples (including a Hello World) and detailed explanations of how the mapping works are included, along with advanced techniques.

The presentation includes a "Taxonomy of XML-Java mappings" section that may be of interest to Java developers in general, as it outlines the different approaches available for integrating XML and Java object models.
