Sablotron C++ XSLT processor offers C and Perl APIs
13:36, 4 May 2000 UTC | Edd Dumbill

Ginger Alliance Ltd have announced their open-source XSLT processor, Sablotron.

Tested on both Windows NT and Linux, Sablotron is licensed under the GNU General Public License. The authors state their aims as being to "develop [a] fast, compact and portable XSLT processor".

Sablotron wraps James Clark's expat, and is available as a shared library (.so or DLL) as well as in source form. It does not yet have full W3C XSLT 1.0 support.

Online documentation and an FAQ is available, as is a mailing list.

Sablotron forms a part of Ginger's Charlie, a "generic XML data distribution system".

Update: Matt Sergeant has integrated the Sablotron XSLT processor into his Apache/XML delivery kit, version 0.55.
