Matt Sergeant <matt@sergeant.org> has announced the 1.2 release of his mod_perl-based
XML application server, AxKit.
The open-source AxKit is similar in purpose to
Apache's Java-based Cocoon -- but appears to be significantly
higher-performing than the current Cocoon, though the AxKit
site offers no performance data.
In addition to a number of bug fixes, the AxKit 1.2 release
provides an improved installer, updated and improved support
for the Apache::Filter Perl module, and changes
related to support for the XSP system of generating dynamic content
through code embedded in XML files.
AxKit can be installed through download from the AxKit site,
the Apache modules directory of the CPAN site, or
from the CPAN shell with the command:
perl -MCPAN -e 'install AxKit'
AxKit developer discussion takes place on the axkit-devel list, user discussion on axkit-users. To subscribe to either list,
